Islands Christian Church is seeking a passionate, organized, and faith-filled leader to serve as our Director of Children’s Ministry. This part-time position exists to help children of all abilities grow in their relationship with Jesus, engage families in the discipleship journey, and lead volunteers in creating a Christ-centered environment where every child feels welcomed and loved.

    • Oversee and implement the vision and mission of Islands Christian Church’s Children’s Ministry (nursery through 5th grade).

    • Develop, train, and lead a team of volunteers to provide a high-quality, engaging, and safe ministry experience on Sunday mornings.

    • Plan and coordinate children’s ministry programming and special events, including Vacation Bible School (VBS), Baby Dedications, and seasonal activities.

    • Collaborate with church staff and participate in regular planning and ministry meetings.

    • Build positive, productive relationships with children, parents/guardians, volunteers, and staff.

    • Ensure the ministry is inclusive and mindful of children with special needs and diverse abilities.

    • Manage ministry resources, curriculum, and scheduling to support the church’s overall mission.

    • A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a life that reflects His teachings.

    • Alignment with Islands Christian Church’s beliefs and mission.

    • Passion for discipling children and equipping parents to lead their families in faith.

    • Experience in leading children’s ministry or a related field (training, education, or equivalent experience).

    • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to cast vision, inspire, and motivate others.

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; approachable, positive, and empathetic.

    • Part-Time: 25 hours/week, including flexible weekday hours and required Sunday morning ministry leadership.

    • Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience; PTO included.

    • Reports to the Lead Pastor.

    • Background check required prior to employment.
