What We Believe

Our Beliefs and Values

We believe and value many things, but listed below is the core.

We believe in the one true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jesus is the only Son of God who died for our sins and literally came back from the dead.— 1 Corinthians 15:1-8

The Holy Spirit lives within those who have made the commitment to follow Jesus teachings and live under God’s authority.

The Bible is the inspired word of God — 2 Timothy 3:16

We believe every person has worth as a creation of God, but that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Therefore, all are lost and deserving of punishment.— Romans 3:23

We believe that salvation (the forgiveness of sins, adoption into the family of God, admission into Heaven) comes by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:9;  Ephesians 2:8-9; I Peter 1:18-19; I John 1:7)

We believe the Bible teaches that the pattern to receive Christ as Savior is to believe in Christ as God’s son and Savior of the world, to repent (turn away from) of personal sin, to confess (verbally admit that you belong to) Christ as Lord, and to be immersed in baptism. Each of these is clearly taught in the Word of God. (Romans 5:1-2; Luke 24:45-47; Acts 3:19, 17:30; II Peter 3:9; Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9-10; I John 4:15; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; I Peter 3:21) No one thing is more important than the other; they are all a part of the process of becoming a follower of Jesus.

We believe the Church has work to do in this world. We believe that ministry to those in need, honors God and shows the world what being a follower of Jesus is all about. (Matthew 25:31-46;  Galatians 2:10; Hebrews 10:24) We believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each person. When Christ returns, He will formally pronounce the eternal fate of each individual, both living and dead. The saved will be assigned to eternal life, the unsaved, eternal separation from God. (John 6:39; Romans 8:10-11; 19:23; John 5:29; Daniel 12:2)
